Who is Hoa?
HER STORY
Hoa Chu was born and raised in Vietnam. After high school, she moved to America alone. She was lost, trying to figure out how to build a life from nothing in a place that felt so far from home.
In 2018, on her very first day of nursing school clinicals, a patient asked her, “What is your dream?" She knew exactly what it was, but fear kept her from saying it out loud. She was just a first-semester nursing student, speaking broken English, having moved across the country alone. Her dream felt impossibly far away. Seeing her hesitation, the patient told her, “If your dream doesn’t scare you, it’s not big enough.” Those words carved themselves into her heart.
Today, that dream has bloomed into Gem Beauty Clinic, named after her firstborn daughter and built with every ounce of love, grit, and determination. Hoa is now pursuing her graduate degree as a Nurse Practitioner because she believes education is the key to serving her clients with the highest level of care.
Outside of work, she is a proud mom of two and loves traveling with her family. She welcomes challenges, celebrates hard work, and champions those who never give up on their dreams. Her name, Hoa (pronounced “Wah”), means flower in Vietnamese, a reminder of her roots, her growth, and the beauty that blossoms through resilience.
